Strawberry Thief
William Morris was a key figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement, and as a committed conservationalist and socialist he dedicated his life to the idea that art should improve the lives of ordinary people. It was Morris who said, ‘Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful’. A printed furnishing textile from 1883, Strawberry Thief is one of William Morris’ most well-known and popular designs. It takes its inspiration from the thrushes which frequently stole the fruit from the garden of his countryside home, Kelmscott Manor, in Oxfordshire. • Dishwasher safe
